Advantages to Moving in the Fall

Summer is the most popular time to move by a landslide, especially up here in the Midwest. People generally move in the summer because a.) it’s warm, and b.) the kids are done with school for the year. While we do think summer is a great time to move, fall can be wonderful too! Here are a few advantages:
  1. Cooler temperatures. Summer can be HOT up here, and fall is generally cool. It is easier to add layers and stay warm than to strip down and stay cool! Packing, loading, unloading, and unpacking are much more enjoyable when it isn’t hot.
  2. Time. People generally have more time on their hands after the hustle and bustle of summer is over. Weddings, graduation parties, and family reunions are typically done for the year and vacations were either taken over the summer, or will happen over the winter.
  3. Packing and unpacking will be more enjoyable during the evening hours because the days are shorter- you won’t feel the need to ‘soak up the sun’ and be outdoors.
  4. It’s not winter!
So there you have it- fall can be a great time to move! Do you have a move coming up? Contact Good Stuff Moving today for a free quote! And be sure to follow us on twitter @goodstuffmoving for moving tips and news.
