Got Questions?
- Autumn is the Best Time in the Twin Cities
OK it’s true. We think every season is the best season in the Twin Cities. But autumn offers some truly great opportunities to get outside, spend time with family and friends and eat good food. We’ve put together a short list of a few of our favorite events for you to enjoy. It’s an opportunity for you to see the sites and enjoy one of the top 10 places to live in America (check out that story here). We’ve included links to more information on all the events we listed.
Great eats
Do you love food trucks as much as we do? Then you have to check out the Fall Feast Food Truck Rally on October 18th. It’s being held outside of Longfellow’s Harriet Brewing. What could be more fun than eighteen trucks situated side by side showing off their culinary creations in a spirited day of playful competition and camaraderie between cooks.
For the adults who love to sample beer be sure to check out the Nordeast Big River Brew Fest also on October 18th. Over 200 beers from local and far away will be available for tasting along with great food and even an ice cream giveaway for the kids. This event is being held in the main parking lot of Nordeast Neighborhood Services.
Great fun
October is the spookiest month with haunted houses, hayrides and events around the region. One event that is a ‘must see’ is the 2014 Trail of Terror. Held at the Renaissance Festival site in Shakopee month long event offers something for everyone. A heated maze filled with spooks, a terror-filled jail, a haunted wooded area, a demonic hotel, a 5k trail where runners can get their cardio in while escaping from angry zombies, an unsuccessful pest-control business and a bunch of non-scary hot spots include a dance club, brew pubs, and karaoke.
Great music
The wide variety of music to enjoy continues to be a true gem in the crown of the Twin Cities. Talk about something for everyone check out the pure Cajun sound of BeauSoleil avec Michael Doucet at the Cedar Cultural Center. For folks who follow Pearl Jam they will be performing at the Xcel Energy Center in October. And if garage bands and rockers are your favorite style then don’t miss King Tuff at 7th Street Entry on October 18th too.
Everything we listed here can be found at CityPages where they do an amazing job of being the center of the universe for news and events in the Twin Cities region. So make plans to get out and enjoy the autumn.
