What NOT to Move

What NOT to Move

What NOT to Move

This may sound strange to you, but the truth of the matter is, you should not pack everything. There are some things movers will not move because certain regulations may forbid it. There are certain things you should not try moving yourself and some you should not pack at all. Dispose of hazardous material: Give items to your neighbors and friends or call your local waste management center, recycling company or The Environment Protection Agency about how to safely dispose of them. These Items Include:
  • Acid
  • Aerosols
  • Ammonia
  • Ammunition
  • Batteries
  • Car Batteries
  • Charcoal
  • Chemistry Sets
  • Cleaning Fluid
  • Darkroom Chemicals
  • Fertilizer
  • Fireworks
  • Gasoline Poisons
  • Kerosene
  • Lamp Oil
  • Lighter Fluid
  • Liquid Bleach
  • Loaded Weapons
  • Matches
  • Motor Oil
  • Nail Polish & Remover
  • Paints
  • Paint Thinner
  • Pesticides
  • Pool Chemicals
  • Propane Tanks
  • Sterno
  • Weed Killer
Perishable Items: Plants, animals, and food are considered perishable items and should not be packed if your move is more than 150 miles or 24 hours away. If your move is local, take time to properly package these items. Be careful with meat, eggs, and dairy products. These items often spoil, die, or suffer damages if not properly cared along the way. Items of High Value: High value does not necessarily mean high priced items, but could include those that are sentimental to you. Keep those items with you, along with cash, jewelry or documents. Items you would not want to live without. Heat Sensitive Items: Candles, CD’s, Computer Hardware, all should be packed using special materials and transported climate-controlled car or truck. Give us a call today! 651.488.4808 or toll free at 866.908.4808 or visit our website.
