Got Questions?
- De-Clutter Before Spring!
Spring is right around the corner, and there is no better time than now to get the house ready for it. We are all for spring-cleaning, but it’s no fun doing that when it is beautiful outside. Get a head start now by following our de-cluttering tips below. By the time the sun is shining and the snow is gone, your house will be organized and you can enjoy the weather!
Start by gathering all paper items (mail, receipts, catalogs, artwork, photos, etc.) that are scattered throughout the house. Recycle as much of it as you can! Anything that must be kept should have a “home.” File receipts in a folder or box used just for that purpose. Keep all photos and artwork together.
When all paper items have been taken care of, move on to bigger things. Walk through the house and gather anything that does not belong in the room it is currently in. Use a laundry basket for this to make things easier. When everything is gathered, relocate it to its proper room.
Next comes the fun part- getting rid of things! You can plan a spring garage sale, or donate items to your local Goodwill, Salvation Army, or other charity that collects household items. Pretty much anything in good condition can be donated, and all donations are tax deductible. Get rid of anything you do not use or wear.
When you have eliminated unnecessary items and everything else is in its proper location, cleaning will be a breeze.
