So now that you’ve moved in…

Now that you have moved in and starting to get settled, Good Stuff Moving wants to give you a few final precautions to take to stay safe.

• If there isn’t already a security system installed, GET ONE ASAP!  If your new home already has one, follow up with the current system.  If you are not comfortable with that, change immediately.

• Change all of your locks immediately!  Ask your realtor or a trusted locksmith.  Your realtor can usually meet with you and a locksmith to have your locks changed the morning you arrive.
If you don’t already have window treatments, get some type of covering on them ASAP.

• Check any other possible entrances, such as windows or glass sliding doors, to make sure safety precautions are taken.

• Invite a friend over when the service people are scheduled to arrive so you aren’t alone.  Never tell service people you live by yourself (even if the service is in your name only.)
