Summer FunThe Fourth of July is the official kickoff to summer fun and events everywhere.  As our nation celebrates its independence and we give thanks for our freedom we thought we’d provide a short list of events, festivities and resources to help make your summer fun filled.  This events list is a very short one.  Be sure to visit the resource sites we found for full listings in your area.

  • July 4 in Minneapolis – Red White and Boom TC Half Marathon

Join the fun by cheering on runners or sign up to run! You’ll find surprises on the course and a booming post-race party at St. Anthony Main.

  • July 18-26 Downtown Minneapolis – Minneapolis Aquatennial

Yes, the entire city of Minneapolis takes a whole week off to party in the sun. The Aquatennial is the official civic celebration of the City of Minneapolis.

  • July 20 Nicollet Island Pavillion – Sister Cities Day Celebration & Ice Cream Social

International entertainment, free ice cream sundaes and a chance to connect and learn about the 10 Minneapolis Sister Cities throughout the world.

Resources

The Dakota takes its trademark world-class music and phenomenal food out of the club and onto the street. Some of the best acts from across the nation will gather in Minneapolis to put on a show like no other. Admission is free.

The Twin Cities region is a terrific place to be this Fourth of July and throughout the entire summer.  Many folks have long standing traditions of attending events, picnics, fireworks displays or activities like camping or boating.   No matter how you choose to celebrate this holiday please be safe, have fun and remember to thank a veteran for their service.
